Packaging and Contents:
ASRock Z77 Extreme9 comes in a pretty large box which complements its price and feature set. Most of the real estate on the front of the box is used by ASRock’s XFast 555 moniker. In addition to that, ASRock lists some of the major features of the board like Z77 chipset, NVIDIA SLI and AMD CrossfireX support. ASRock used the back of the box to tell almost everything there is to tell about this motherboard.
ASRock Z77 Extreme9 come securely packed in foam (both on top and bottom) so that even the worst delivery guy can’t mess with it.
Following things come with the motherboard in terms of accessories:
- Quick installation guide and some other documentation
- Installation disk
- Six SATA III 6 Gb/s cables
- Two molex to SATA power cables
- Back I/O Shield
- 3-Way SLI Bridge
- Two short SLI bridges
- One long flexible SLI bridge
- ASRock Wi-SB Box and screws
ASRock Wi-SB box is an interesting addition. It’s actually a 5.25” bay device which serve a couple of purposes. First of all, it provides two USB 3.0 ports at front panel via motherboard header. Secondly, it serves as an antenna for WiFi and Bluetooth. At last, it can also house a 2.5” drive.
A much-needed thing is missing for the accessory package; it’s the 4-way SLI and Crossfire Bridge. 4-way configuration can still be ran using the three 2-way SLI bridges (or CrossfireX bridges that come with AMD cards) but it would have been nice to see on in the box. It feels kind of dumb to not have a 4-way bridge in a motherboard which supports 4-way configurations.
