NickShih, ASRock’s in-house overclocker, has showed off his skills and overclockablity of ASRock motherboard by overclocking 8 GB of Team Group memory to 3100 MHz in dual channel mode. He used Intel’s latest Core i7 3770K processor along with some upcoming ASRock Z77 motherboard (something tells us that its ASrock Z77 Extreme9). He overclocked the processor to 4.1 GHz to aid the memory. As far the memory is concerned, he used two modules of 4 GB each in dual channel mode and they were cooled by air.
He also tells that according to his testing, this upcoming ASRock Z77 motherboard’s memory overclockability will not be effected even if you populate all memory slots.
