MSI Z77A-GD80 was first seen at CeBit this year but there isn’t any official announcement or products page about this board in its place yet though MSI is offering it as a prize in the MSI MOA 2012 competition which is being hosted on HWBot.
MSI Z77A-GD80 is MSI’s flagship Z77 motherboard for Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge processors. It has an LGA1155 socket which is powered by a 22-phase power delivery system. It has four DIMM slots which support up to 32 GB of DDR3 memory in dual channel mode. As for expansion slots, it comes with three PCI Express x16 slots (two are PCI Express 3.0 compatible) and four PCI Express x1 slots. For storage connectivity, it comes with four SATA III 6 Gb/s slots and four SATA II 3 Gb/s slots. Other storage connectivity options include a USB 3.0 front panel header and a couple of USB 2.0 front panel headers.
Back I/O panel of the MSI Z77A-GD80 is populated by four USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, PS/2 mouse/keyboard port, Thunderbolt port, HDMI port, VGA port, clear CMOS button and 7.1 channel HD audio with THX TruStudio Pro support.
MSI Z77A-GD80 comes with all the MSI exclusive features like Military Class III components, OC Genie II and V-Check Probes. There is no word on the retail availability or price of this motherboard.
