Apple has only updated their iPhones, iPods and MacBook Air in this year as yet. There is still a lot to be updated in Apple’s arsenal. According to AllThingsD, the Cupertino-giant is all set for an iPad event on October 22. Naturally, the event will be mainly focused on the fifth generation 10-inch iPad along with the second generation iPad Mini but Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks are also expected to be discussed.

As per the rumors we’ve been hearing for quite a while now, the fifth generation iPad will boast a thinner and lighter design with upgraded innards. It’ll probably run a faster, upgraded version of the Apple A7 chip which is initially revealed with iPhone 5s. The smaller iPad Mini will also get a new processor along with the long-rumored retina display. Furthermore, some rumors also suggest that the new iPads will feature the Touch ID fingerprint sensor as the iPhone 5s.

Surprisingly, on the same day as the Apple’s event, Nokia will be hosting an important event in Abu Dhabi and Microsoft’s Surface 2 will also go on sale in US on that day.
