KGI Securities has released their forecast for 2018 iPhone lineup and according to their information, Apple will be launching two new bezel-less iPhones in addition to an updated version of the iPhone X.
There will be a new 6.5-inch bezel-less phone; think of it as iPhone X Plus. This will have all the high-end features like high density OLED display panel. The second will be a low end 6.1-inch device which will be having a lower resolution LCD display. KGI also predicts that the whole 2018 iPhone lineup will feature the bezel-less design and TouchID will be dropped completely in favor of FaceID.
The 6.5-inch iPhone will have a 480-500 PPI display whereas the 6.1-inch device will have 320-330 PPI display which is lower than iPhone X’s 458 PPI.
There are some speculations about the pricing of iPhone next year. The 6.1-inch will be the cheapest iPhone around 649-749USD, whereas the updated version of iPhone X will be around 849-949USD and the 6.5-inch iPhone will be above 1000USD mark. It is unclear whether Apple will discontinue current iPhone X or its price will be dropped in to the 550-650USD region however the later option seems very unlikely.
All of this should be taken with a grain of salt at the next iPhone launch is months away and a lot can change between now and then.
