ASUS revealed its latest installment in the X79 chipset motherboard lineup at CES in Las Vegas; the ASUS P9X79-E WS. Its the most feature-filled single socket motherboard to date. Its is designed for workstation and server usage with future proof technology.
Complete specifications of the motherboard are not yet revealed but for now, it comes with a total of ten SATA ports, six of them being SATA III 6Gbps and four SATA II 3Gbps, eight DDR3 DIMM memory slots with support of up to 64GB memory with the frequency of 2400MHz (O.C). In terms of power, P9X79-E WS comes with a 10+2 DIGI+ phase design powered by an eight 8-pin EPS connector along with 7 PCI-Ex 3.0 slots supporting Quad SLI or Quad CrossFireX. An additional, 6-pin power connector is located on the motherboard in order to provide additional power to the PCI-Ex lanes.
Other specifications include, Dual Gigbayte Ethernet Lan, a couple of USB 3.0 ports, eight USB 2.0 ports at the back, Clear CMOS button and 7.1 channel HD Audio. Prices and availability of the motherboard is not yet revealed.
