Last month, we reported that ASUS is planning to launch a 7-inch MeMO Pad for $149. Although, the product is not launched in the US market yet but the launch is scheduled in April. ASUS released a video teasing some of the features of MeMO Pad on YouTube.
ASUS already revealed complete specifications of the device, it will feature a 7-inch multi-touch screen with a resolution of 1024×600, 16GB storage expandable via microSD slot, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, VIA WM8950 single core processor with Mali-400 graphics and battery time of up to 7 hours. ASUS MeMO pad is not aimed for enthusiasts or hardcore gamers rather its ideal for daily routine tasks and it does come with a price cheaper than both Nexus 7 and iPad mini.
The video on YouTube shows unique features of the device including SonicMaster Audio Technology which enhances audio output of the device. The only main concern about the MeMO Pad its the screen, 140-degree is a narrow viewing angle and only comes with cheap TN panels. Apart from that it does sounds like a good buy but it will be hard for ASUS to derive customers away from the more appealing Google Nexus 7 which is just $50 expensive but comes with much better specifications.
