Its been a while since NVIDIA launched their new Maxwell-based GeForce GTX 980 and GTX 970 graphics cards and now AIB partners are launching their custom graphics cards based on these new Maxwell chips. As all the top-end graphics cards get the ROG Matrix Platinum treatment, the latest from NVIDIA got the same. ASUS just announced their ROG GeForce GTX 980 Matrix Platinum graphics card which comes with a completely custom PCB and cooling solution.
In terms of key specifications, the GTX 980 Matrix Platinum comes with GPU clock of up to 1342 MHz whereas its 4GB GDDR5 memory is clocked at 7010 MHz. The custom PCB brings some exciting features like 14-phase power delivery system with DIGI+ VRM, Super Alloy Power and black metallic capacitors. As already mentioned, the GTX 980 Matrix Platinum comes with a beefy custom DirectCU II cooling solution with CoolTech fans and 10mm matte black heatpipes. To satisfy its power needs, the graphics card is equipped with two 8-pin power connectors. In terms of display output options, it comes with three DisplayPorts, one HDMI and one DVI port.
ASUS has not announced the pricing of the ROG GeForce GTX 980 Matrix Platinum as yet but the card is being shipped to reviewers right now. We’ll update you guys as we get more information.
