Finally we have something from ASUS and it is definitely a beauty. ASUS’s X99 Deluxe motherboard has been revealed and it looks beautiful in the black and white color scheme. The motherboard is designed for upcoming Haswell-E HEDT CPUs and houses Intel’s X99 chipset. X99 Deluxe is the flagship motherboard in the consumer series line and just an notched behind the Republic of Gamers line up. It features ASUS’s 5-way optimization similar to what we have seen in the Z97 motherboards and the all new flashy BIOS to go with all the goodies.
ASUS X99 Deluxe; 5-way optimization, 128 GB DDR4 Memory Support & Crystal Sound 2
Its mesmerizing just to look at X99 Deluxe motherboard. The sleek white armor and heatsinks over the jet black PCB makes it stand out in terms of aesthetics. Along with those beautiful looks, it packs all the necessary features a high-end user wants in a motherboard. The X99 Deluxe features eight DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 128 GB memory (16 GB modules required). The LGA 2011-3 CPU socket is surrounded by a 8 phase DIGI+ VRM design and three heatsinks to keep the power circuitry cool.
The bottom half of the PCB features five PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and a single PCIe x4 slot. I cannot seem to find a M.2 slot near the PCIe slots but I am sure ASUS will not skip it so it should be somewhere on the PCB. On the left of the expansion slots, the X99 PCH is cooled via a white heatsink and next to the heatsink we find the storage ports. There are eight SATA 6 GB/sports and two SATA Express ports on board. Just underneath the X99 PCH, there are four switches – one for TPU, one for EPU, one for EZ XMP and one for Dual BIOS.
At the very end of the PCB, we find an on/off button, a reset button, couple of USB 2.0 headers, Intel Thunderbolt connector, a Debug LED, HD audio connector, front panel connectors and a clear CMOS button. On the bottom left, a separate board is embedded for ASUS’s exclusive Crystal Sound 2 technology. The complete audio module is protected by white armor which is extending from the I/O panel. X99 Deluxe’s Crystal Sound 2 technology uses audio shielding, EMI cover, dedicated audio amplifier, unique de-pop circuit and premium Japanese capacitors for ultimate sound quality and low distortions.
The I/O shield of ASUS X99 Deluxe is protected by a white armor/shield. It incorporates ten USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, three 802.11 ac WiFi antennas, 8-channel audio with SPDIF output, dual Intel Gigabit LAN ports and a clear CMOS button. ASUS has completely redesigned its motherboard BIOS and its nothing short of an engineering marvel. ASUS Z97’s BIOS is the smoothest and best looking compared to every other motherboard and X99 Deluxe will incorporate the same design. The 5-way optimization is just one click that takes care of all that complex tuning. It dynamically optimizes essential aspects of your system based on real-time use – so you get superb CPU performance, everyday energy savings, ultra-stable digital power, cool and quiet fans and even networking and audio settings that are tailored for the apps that you are using.
ASUS X99 Deluxe is scheduled for launch on August 29th 2014 along side Intel Haswell-E HEDT CPUs. It is the flagship motherboard so it will not come cheap, expect the motherboard to priced above $300.
