EA is on a roll these days. They are going to launch a new Need For Speed game by the end of this year and today they announced partnership with Hollywood studio DreamWorks and gave them rights to make a Need For Speed movie. Shooting will start in early 2013 and the movie will make its way to cinemas in 2014. Scott Waugh, the man behind ‘Act Of Valor’, will be directing the movie and screenplay will be handled by George Gatins and his brother; John Gatins. According to several reports, story of the movie will not be based on any of the Need For Speed games.
EA describes the movie as “a fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the ’70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise.” EA is also taking fan requests about what car they would like to see in the movie; so go ahead and nominate your favourite car.
More details will be revealed as shooting starts and we’ll keep you guys reported.
