EVGA teased us with a picture of their X79 Classified motherboard a couple of days ago, then they showed the gigantic SR3 Dual LGA2011 motherboard, today they revealed the X79 FTW motherboard. With EATX form factor, its a little smaller than Classified motherboard they showed earlier. Layout is same as all X79 based motherboards i.e. the LGA2011 socket is surrounded by DDR3 DIMM slots, two on both sides which offer quad channel memory configuration. There is a right angled 24-pin ATX power connector along with 8-pin EPS power connector for CPU and a right angled 4-pin molex for providing extra power to PCI Express slots.
For expansion slots, we have five PCI Express x16 slots and one PCI Express x1 slots. There is no word that how many of these slots are PCI-e 3.0 complaint. It supports 3-way NVIDIA SLi & AMD CrossfireX. There are switches to PCI Express or DIMM slots to help with troubleshooting.
It has two SATA III 6Gbps ports and four SATA II 3Gbps ports for storage connectivity. Front panel headers include a USB 3.0 header and a couple for USB 2.0. Back I/O has eight USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, two gigabit Ethernet, HD audio, FireWire port, EVBot support and Bluetooth.
EVGA hasn’t announced the price or availability of this board but it’ll probably hit the retail about the same time Intel releases Sandy Bridge-E processors and X79 based motherboards.
