Google is finally making a successor to the famed 7-inch Nexus 7 tablet, according to Evan Blass. The Nexus 7 was initially released in 2012 and then it got an update in 2013. Both the versions were made by ASUS but since then, there hasn’t been any 7-inch tablet released in the Nexus lineup. The Nexus 7 got really popular back in the day due to its excellent design, low price and pure Android user experience.
The upcoming rumored 7-inch tablet will probably be made by Huawei and will have 4GB of RAM. However, as we have learnt that Google’s upcoming Android phones will be released under the Pixel brand, the same can be said about this upcoming tablet. We are not sure what it will be called but Huawei trademarked ‘7P’ sometime back which could end up being this tablet’s name.

After Nexus 7, Google launched Nexus 9 and Pixel C tablets but none of them were as well received as their predecessor. The Nexus 7 has been the ideal of Android users when it comes to tablets. However, since Huawei has given the very successful 6P to the Nexus lineup, expectations will be very high from their tablet as well.
The release time frame of this upcoming tablet is not known yet, it could come as early as next month when Google will be announcing the new Pixel phones or it could come before holiday season.
