Here’s how you can install Android 7.0 Nougat right now

Google has officially rolled out the public and final version of Android 7.0 Nougat yesterday. Its being delivered to recent Nexus devices via over the air updates. The new version of Android brings lots of little improvements along with two major features – improved notifications and split screen multitasking.

The Nougat OTA is being rolled out gradually to all the support devices in the world. It might take time to reach your phone depending on your region and device. However, there is a very simply way to get it right now by following the steps below:

  1. Make sure that you have a compatible device. Nougat is only available for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C tablet, or General Mobile 4G at the moment.
  2. Sign up for Android Beta program using the Google account that you are using on the chosen device. Don’t worry, you WON’T be getting the beta version through this method.
  3. Then select the handset or tablet that you want to in roll into the program.
  4. Click Join Beta.
  5. Connect your phone to WiFi and the final public version of Android 7.0 Nougat will start downloading.

Google says that it will take about 24 hours till you get the download but it starts immediately. And although its not needed, you can leave the beta program after you have installed the Android 7.0 Nougat on your phone.
