Huawei might not be the most renowned name in the world of smartphones, but the Chinese Networking firm has been making steady strides in this area. They’ve just announced the new flagship called Ascend P6 and it’s already breaking a few records. The Ascend P6 is the thinnest phone money can buy.
Just how thin is the Huawei Ascend P6? Just 6.2mm in thickness. As a comparison the iPhone 5, which is known for its thinness measures 7.6mm in thickness. Huawei has also managed to keep the weight in check at just 120g. Whether the phone will be ergonomic is another story.
The screen on the Ascend P6 measures 4.7-inch with 720p resolution. Huawei has chosen to power the phone with its own chipset called K3V2 which is quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A9 chipset with 2GB RAM. The same chipset powers many of Huawei’s other smartphones as well. The rest of the features are pretty run of the mill. On the back is a 8MP camera which has BSI with F2.0. On the front is a 5MP shooter.
Internal memory of 8GB is further expandable via microSD card. Ascent P6 comes with Android 4.2.2 out of the box with Huawei’s Emotion UI. There is dual-SIM support but no LTE. A 2000mAh battery powers the whole phone.
Ascend P6 will hit shelves in China this month while Europe will get it in July. There’s no information on pricing yet.
