Intel’s Haswell is due for next year; it’ll be based on same 22nm die as Sandy Bridge but as some analyst have been saying it’ll be a big step forward for portable computing. Today, Intel hinted at performance and power consumption of Haswell at IDF (Intel Developer Forum), San Francisco. The Haswell is expected to offer 2x GPU performance as compared to Ivy Bridge IGP and power consumption at idle will be 20x lower than Sandy Bridge. Intel also ran Unigine Heaven benchmark on a Haswell system and an Ivy Bridge system for comparison. Haswell offered twice the amount of frame rates as compared to Ivy Bridge.
