Intel’s next generation of Core series processors is due this summer and the major attraction of these processors is their IGP performance. However, Intel is not leaving their current Ivy Bridge users behind. At a media event on GDC 2013, Intel revealed that they will launch a driver update for HD 4000 series integrated graphics in a few days which will boost the graphics performance by up to 10%. Furthermore, this driver update will also decrease the power consumption of graphics processors.
The driver update version 15.31 was actually developed for upcoming Haswell processors but the company is making it available to Ivy Bridge users also. Along with its other benefits, this driver update will also bring OpenCL 1.2 support to HD 4000 series.
