As the launch date of ‘Ivy Bridge’ processors is coming nearer and nearer, we’re seeing a lot of leaked info. Today is no different either because the flagship product, Intel Core i7 3770K quad-core processor was overclocked to 7.06 GHz. The processor consists of 128 KB L1 cache, 1 MB L2 cache & 8 MB of L3 cache. The processor will run at default frequency of 3.5GHz which is identical to its predecessor, Core i7 2700K.
Now coming onto the details of that overclock, the voltage was raised to 1.889 volts, using 63x multiplier and 112.11 MHz and dry ice was used. So there you have it, this 22nm animal overclocked beyond 7000 MHz.
