Intel to Launch Sandy Bridge-E on November 15

According to news reported by DonanimHaber, Intel will be launching its new high-end desktop/server platform, Sandy Bridge-E (Enthusiast), on November 15. It was previously slated for December 2011.

Intel will have three Sandy Bridge-E processors and two Sandy Bridge-E desktop motherboards for sale on the launch day. Processors include the Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition 6-core Unlocked, Core i7-3930K 6-core Unlocked , and Core i7-3820 4-core. Core i7 3960X Extreme Edition is expected to be 1.2% faster on average as compared to Intel’s current flag ship processor, Core i7-990X Extreme Edition.

Intel X79 Express is the desktop chipset that is suspected to drive Sandy Bridge-E offerings. Two Sandy Bridge-E compatible motherboards based on Intel X79 Express that will be available on launch are DX79SI and DX79TO. Most probably, motherboard vendors will also have their LGA2011 offering stocked by then.
