Kingston, which is better known for their memory and SSD products, has just announced their first audio product. The all new HyperX Cloud is a gaming heatset developed in collaboration with Swedish expert QPad. This is not exactly Kingston’s first attempt to enter a new market. Last year, they released a HyperX edition of SteelSeries Siberia v2. Though, that was just a simple Siberia V2 with HyperX paint job but the new HyperX Cloud is an all new product.
The HyperX Cloud looks very simple, robust and light. Even though it is targeted at gamers, it does not have that extra flashiness that Razer is usually known for. The main structure of the heatset is made of aluminium which gives it unmatched rigidity and durability. It has a leather-padded adjustable headband with custom stitching in red. The contrast of black and red gives it a very striking look. The ear cups are very cushy and have leatherette material however these are easily exchangeable with optional velour cups. These have over the ear design which cuts out the external noises to enhance the gaming experience.
Kingston has equipped the HyperX Cloud with large 53mm drivers with frequency response of 15Hz to 25 KHz. It also comes with a detachable microphone with frequency response of 100 Hz to 12,000 Hz. It has 3.5mm jack which is 1 meter long by default. However, it does come with a 2 meter extension and an iPhone adapter as well. HyperX Cloud is compatible with everything ranging from PC to consoles to smartphones.
HyperX Cloud is now available from retail outlets around the world for around $99 and it comes with 2 years Kingston warranty.
