MSI ECO motherboards revealed; eco-friendly gaming

MSI is taking the Mr. nice guy road and announced new eco-friendly motherboard line up. MSI ECO motherboards minimize power output while maintaining the same functionality. Obviously compromises have to be made out just like electric sports cars provide only 30 minutes of breath taking driving experience, MSI’s ECO motherboards do not provide the extreme overclocking or gaming features. Never the less, its a great initiative with a healthy environment in mind.

MSI ECO Center Pro Software

MSI managed to reduce the power output of ECO motherboards with the help of uniquely designed PCB and MSI ECO Center Pro desktop software. We are familiar with the OC button on the motherboards but these motherboards come with an ECO switch to reduce power output significantly. 40% power savings can be achieved using the desktop software for MSI ECO boards. Users can turn off slots and ports which are not in use, such as idle PCIe slots, USB ports, various system LEDs and fans.
