Intel launched the new SSD 335 series in October 2012. At the time of launch, only 240GB model was available in the market. Today, EX Preview reports that Intel will be introducing new 80GB & 180GB models along with a change of appearance of the drives.
Intel’s SSD 335 Series is based on NAND flash memory using 20nm MLC. Intel issued a notice with two new product codes; SSDSC2CT080A4K5 & SSDSC2CT1804K5 for their 335 Series. Detailed specifications of these two variants are not revealed. The previous 240GB model has a simple design with an aluminium shell, but the new models will have a different appearance. New ones will have a shell printed circuit diagram on the top along with an Intel logo on the bottom right corner of the SSD. Intel is expected to start shipping the new models by the end of January next year.
