Given that the NH-U14S is a better version of the NH-U12S, it is automatically expected to come the top. However, that didn’t happen in our idle system results. Both the coolers depicted same kind of performance; 7 degrees over the ambient temperature. Anyway, it is still not unimpressive in any way. Both these coolers beat the much larger NH-D14.
Moving to the load results, this is where NH-U14S starts to shine. It gives 2.5 degree lower temperature as compared to its younger brother and it goes neck to neck with the Corsair H80i’s performance mode. It is notable here that the H80i uses two 120mm fans whereas the NH-U14S has only one fan. Other coolers like Dark Rock Pro 2 and Noctua’s very own NH-D14 are way behind NH-U14S.
