Oppo F1s

Oppo, the smartphone company which now calls itself a ‘camera phone’ brand, has just added the new F1s phone to their photography series. The new phone is a successor to the F1 and it carries the same ‘selfie expert’ tag line.

Its a fairly big phone with a 5.5-inch display having 1280×720 pixels resolution. The main highlight of the F1s is obviously its front camera. This purpose built camera comes with 16 megapixels, a fairly large 1/3.1-inch sensor and F/2.0 aperture. Oppo has also baked in some unique post processing algorithms which make the selfies a bit more vibrant with superb detail. Moreover, there is also a screen flash feature which compensates for low light conditions by dynamically adjusting its brightness. The selfie camera can be triggered by simply waving your hand or saying “cheese”. The rear camera takes a back seat in this phone with 13 megapixels, 1/3-inch sensor and F/2.2 aperture. It is also accompanied by an LED flash. The camera setup of Oppo F1s also comes with some exciting features like an Expert Mode, Double Exposure, Time Lapse and GIF.

The Oppo F1s has finger print sensor which is not only fast but also has a very interesting feature built in. Users can map up to five fingers with different contacts and apps and upon unlocking the phone with any of these fingers, the phone will dial a call to the associated contact or launch the respective app. This saves a couple of extra taps when you are in a hurry to make a call or launch an app.

All this is powered by the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM and a non-removable 3075 mAh battery. The phone also comes with a triple-slot SIM tray which can not only take two 4G enabled naon-SIMs but you can also drop in a microSD card adding another 128GB to the 32GB internal storage.

The F1s comes running the Color OS 3.0 on top of Android 5.1 Lollipop. According to Oppo, the new operating system gives a phone a 30% speed boost as compared to its predecessor which runs Color OS 2.1.

Build quality of the phone is also pretty good with a glass front covered in Corning Gorrilla Glass 4 screen and aluminum back. It weights about 160 grams with a thickness of 7.38mm.

The Oppo F1s will be hitting the markets soon in Gold and Rose Gold with a price of Rs 29,999 in Pakistan and about US $300 in other countries.
