Only Mac that hasn’t gotten the Intel Haswell treatment as yet was the Retina MacBook Pro lineup which has not finally gotten the much deserved refresh. Both the 13-inch and 15-inch models have gotten Haswell processors. The 13-inch model is now running Intel Iris graphics. The graphics chip is around 90% faster than the last generation. Its now even lighter at 3.46 lbs and even slimmer at only 0.71″. In terms of battery life, its around 2 hours better than the last generation 13-inch rMBP with around 9 hours of battery life. It obviously has 802.11ac WiFi along with Thunderbolt 2 and PCIe based SSD which is 60% faster than last generation. It now starts at $1299 instead of $1499 and it ships today.
The 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro has also gotten the Haswell processors but with the much powerful Iris Pro graphics with NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M as an optional upgrade. It has up to 8 hours of battery life. And it also comes with WiFi 802.11ac, Thunderbolt 2 and PCIe based SSD. As its smaller version, its also shipping today. Pricing starts at $1999 instead of $2199 as the previous generation.
Both of them ship with the new OS X Mavericks.
