Sennheiser G4ME ONE Review

Sennheiser G4ME ONE

Sennheiser is a leading audio peripherals provider around the world with a reputation of being the best. The company has seen immense success and is known for introducing the top-end products used by professionals around the globe. There is only one segment left where Sennheiser has yet to make its impact and that’s the gaming industry although we have seen headsets such as PC360 series but it didn’t offer any gaming exclusive features.

Sennheiser G4ME ONE is designed to change all that and compete against the leading gaming audio headsets manufacturers such as SteelSeries and Razer. G4ME ONE is compatible with both PC and latest consoles including PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It might not be the prettiest gaming headsets we have seen but it’s definitely one of the best performers.

Sennheiser G4ME ONE

In terms of industrial design, Sennheiser G4ME ONE is nothing short of engineering marvel. The built-in Hi-Fi sound drivers deliver the same experience that game developers want every gamer to witness when playing their game. The headset comes with a feature called “Ergonomic Acoustic Refinement” which is an exclusive technology that delivers ultimate sonic accuracy and clarity by channeling audio signals directly in to your ears. Sennheiser has also developed an exclusive Transducer Technology for G4ME ONE which delivers a natural sound experience.

Even though the headset is not as beautiful as Sennheiser’s Momentum but it’s designed for ultimate comfort. I have always complained about the size of the ear cups generally being small but G4ME ONE comes with XXL ear pads which surround your ears no matter how big they are and still there is space left for air to pass through preventing heat buildup. The open design of the ear cups allow air to pass through to your ears keeping them cool and non-sweaty during long gaming sessions.

Lastly, this is the first gaming headset which is completely thought through when comes to the microphone. Most headsets we reviewed in the past were equipped with the traditional omni-directional microphone. G4ME ONE features a noise-cancellation microphone allowing gamers to talk to their fellow team members with crystal clarity even during tournaments.

Sennheiser G4ME ONE has a frequency response ranging from 15-28,000 Hz on 50 Ohm impedance and 116dB sensitivity. The microphone on the headset has a frequency response ranging from 50-16,000 Hz with -38 dBV sensitivity at 94 dBSPL. It is an around-the-ear headset with open acoustic design and weighs just 300g. It comes in three colors black and two shades of white along with a 3m long cable. There are two 3.5 mm connectors (1 x headset & 1 x microphone) for connectivity.
