We’re barely into the second week of January and Sony has already announced their smartphone. Earlier during CES we saw the company announce the Xperia Z1 Compact, which we also called the best phone of the event. Today another interesting phone by the name of T2 Ultra has been announced. Like the Xperia Z Ultra, it too has a very large screen. But unlike the Z1 Ultra, it shouldn’t set you back nearly $700.
Sony T2 Ultra comes with a 6-inch 720p LCD screen. It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core chipset with 1GB RAM. The chipset hasn’t been specified, but it’s likely to be the Snapdragon 400. There is 8GB internal memory which can be expanded via microSD card. On the back is a 13MP camera with Exmor RS sensor and a 1.1MP camera with Exmor R sensor on the front. The relatively large 3000mAh battery should last a few days under moderate use.
Sony has not yet announced pricing or availability. T2 Ultra will be available in two variants, the single SIM T2 Ultra and the dual-SIM T2 Ultra dual, in black, white and purple. The phone will go up against the likes of Lumia 1320 and the Samsung Galaxy Mega series.
