Sony has had an interesting year. While they haven’t managed to release a smartphone that can be called as a huge success, they still have released some excellent phones. From the Xperia Z to the recently released Z1, it has been a consistent show from the Japanese giant. But if Sony really wants to challenge the likes of Samsung, they need to try a bit harder. Will Xperia Z2 be the device that does it for them?
Some news has started to surface regarding the Xperia Z2, which will be the successor to the Z1. According to the rumour Xperia Z2 will utilise an IGZO display panel which will measure 5.2-inch. The phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 800 CPU and will run KitKat out of the box. Sony will be using the same 20MP camera that it introduced in the Z1, hopefully a little improved this time.
The announcement date is a bit of mystery at this point. The two big upcoming events are CES 2014 and MWC 2014. Usually MWC is reserved for phone related events, but you never know, maybe Sony has a surprise up its sleeve for us next week.
