NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti is a decent performer for those who game at sub-HD resolutions. It offers good gaming experience at resolutions ranging from 1440×900 to 1680×1050. When tested on full HD (1920×1080), it falls behind and gives un-playable frames per second most of the times.

With better performance as compared to its predecessor, GeForce GTS 450, it gets a bump in power consumption numbers too which is kind of a plunge for NVIDIA’s GeForce 500 series which is actually redesigned GeForce 400 series to offer better performance with lower power draw.

Overall, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti is a good card for gaming at anything lower than 1920×1080. Only worthy contender it has from the AMD camp is the Radeon HD 6850, which is only if you can find it for almost same price as GTX 550 Ti and if you want full HD gaming, then you’ll be better off increasing your budget to something near $250.

Talking about this particular model by SPARKLE, it’s almost same as any reference GTX 550 Ti hence all the negatives and positives of a reference GTX 550 Ti can be related with this particular model.
