SteelSeries is a leading manufacturer of pro-grade gaming peripherals like keyboards, mice, mouse pads, controllers and headsets; they also develop software for their own products. They mostly design peripherals after collaboration with professional gaming peripherals. Hence, their products generally have everything gamers wish for.
Over the years, SteelSeries has produced some quality headsets. SteelSeries Siberia V2, that we recently reviewed, is one of their best headsets. In recent couple of years, a trend of branding peripherals with popular gaming titles has rapidly picked up. It not only advertises the game but it also helps in selling the peripherals to fans of that particular game and most of the times nothing really changes in the peripherals apart from the color scheme. Rolling with the trend, SteelSeries has also painted some of their popular peripherals in “Guild Wars 2” colors.
Today, we have the SteelSeries Guild Wars 2 gaming headset with us. It’s based on their Flux headset featuring Guild Wars 2 artwork on ear cups, red colored ear cushions and red colored cord. It utilizes Flux’s simple fold-able design and compact ear cushions. The wire is also detachable form the ear cup which make it very traveler friendly. It also features ‘Listen-in’ support which will allow another person with the same headset to connect his set into yours and listen whatever you are listening.
The Flux headset features 40mm drivers giving frequency response of 18Hz – 28000Hz on impedance of 29ohms with Sensitivity of 118dB at 1KHz. It has a 3.5mm analog connector with separate microphone & audio jack providing easy connectivity with iPod, iPhone, PSP, Nintendo, any Android phone, MacBook, PC and pretty much every gadget.
