Telenor recently acquired additional spectrum for 4G services and now they have started started issuing 4G sims to their employees, according to ProPakistani, to start internal trials before the service is rolled out to customers.
Other telecom companies who recently launched 3G and 4G services also followed a similar route of launch but first rolling out the services to their employees, then to select customers and lastly to general public. However, Telenor has not announced any final date for the public roll out of 4G services but it should be around Q4 2016. The public roll out is subject to infrastructure and necessary approvals from related authorities.
Telenor currently has about 38 millions customers and offers 3G services at the moment but it will soon become the 3rd network company to launch 4G services after Zong and Warid.
