Uber is now all set to launch its services in Karachi after a few months of successful operations in Lahore. It is the most popular ride hailing service internationally with a valuation of about $70 billion.
Karachi is the most populated city of Pakistan and considering how successful the ride hailing service is in Lahore, Uber is surely taking the right step by launching in Karachi.
According to ProPakistani, company has already hired the operations staff in Karachi and the service will be officially launching in next 10 days (around 26th Aug, 2016).
Charges for Uber rides in Karachi will be same as Lahore. They have a base fare of Rs 100 along with an additional Rs 13.5 per kilometer and Rs 3.7 per minute of the whole trip.
With its aggressive pricing, Uber is not only economical as compared to Careem, its biggest competitor in Pakistan, but also seems like a better option as compared to rickshaws and traditional taxis in most cases.
