United Mobile, one of the largest mobile phone distributor in Pakistan, has joined hands with Alcatel Mobile (previously known as Alcatel OneTouch) for the distribution and after sales services of their smartphone in Pakistan. Prior to this, i2 Pakistan was Alcatel’s distributor in the country. Together, they launched a number of smartphone earlier this year.
With United Mobile’s huge distrbution channel across the country along with 32 customer care centers, Alcatel will get a bigger launch in this country this time. Pakistan’s market is largely captured by Samsung and Apple on the high-end with the low-end being in the hands of some local brands like QMobile, Voice along with Huawei. With Alcatel getting into the market, the competition on low-end will toughen up even more. As a result of this partnership, United Mobile will be catering all the warranty related problems of Alcatel phones sold by them.
Alcatal will reportedly be launching a number of feature phones and smartphones starting from a couple of thousand rupees all the way up to Rs. 25,000 to 30,000 range. Both Alcatel and United Mobile are not revealing any more information at the moment apart from that the launch will be “very soon”.
