Microsoft started off with their E3 preview and catered to the criticisms that the company focused more on TV rather than games. This time it was all about games, release date and pricing. Everyone was shocked after the price of Xbox One was listed on Amazon Germany which amounted to 599 EUR, but to our relief Microsoft also revealed the launch price of the console as well.
Xbox One will hit the stores in November at a price of $499 which sounds more reasonable since it will come bundled with the new Kinect. The one console will be available in 21 countries around the world including UK where it will be priced at £429 while it will be priced at £499 in other parts of Europe. The complete package includes a brand new Xbox One console, one wireless controller, the new Kinect and a 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold. A limited-edition commemorative bundled is also in the works for the same price which will include unique packaging, a limited-edition controller and a commemorative achievement in Xbox Live.
Xbox Live Gold members will get two free games each month to counter Sony’s PlayStation Plus model. Additionally, gamers who will pre-order Ryse: Son of Rome, Forza Motorsport 5, Kinect Sports Rivals and Dead Rising 3 will get access to bonus content such as multiplayer maps and additional in-game features. To further sweeten the deal, Microsoft is also launching Xbox One Play, Charge Kits and Xbox One Chat headset which is plugged in to the controller. All these goodies will be available for purchase at launch separately.
Xbox One is up for pre-orders starting today, be the first one to pre-order your Xbox One from Amazon today.
