ZOTAC usually has very powerful and fully custom graphics cards limited to Chinese market only and their latest GeForce GTX 770 Extreme edition is also one of those card which will probably never be sold outside China. It is similar to the GeForce GTX 680 Extreme edition and GeForce GTX 670 Extreme edition cards we’ve seen in past. It comes with a slightly updated Gamer Force dual-fan cooler with a very interesting design. Looking at the things from a high-level; the GTX 770 Extreme comes with a fully custom PCB with a beefy VRM and high-end cooling solution which make it every hardware enthusiasts dream.
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 770 Extreme specifications and features:
Looking closely at the card reveals the 12-phase VRM with high quality components like noise-free chokes, conductive polymer and tantalum capacitors, multi-phase capacitors for power conditioning and PowIRstage driver-MOSFETs. The beefy VRM is controlled by a combination of two chips; CHiL CHL8318 (8-phase) and CHL 8214-03 (4-phase).
The silver metallic Gamer Force cooler with yellow and black accents seems to be inspired from super cars. It has five 8mm thick nickel plated copper heat pipes which transfer the heat to a large array of aluminum fins. The fins are cooled by a pair of 92mm PWM-controlled fans.
The ZOTAC GeForce GTX 770 Extreme edition ships with 1150 MHz core clock, 1202 MHz boost clock and 7.20 GHz memory clock. It also comes with an OTP mode which is designed for LN2 overclocking. Enabling this mode bypasses some electrical protections so that the card can be taken to its farthest limits. It also comes with on-board voltage measurements points and OC+ module support.
